So because i drive my car like an *** my rotors are warped....

a little reading on this subject has led me to the conclusion that cross-drilled is no good becuse it doesnt help with braking that much and it weakins your rotors significantly.

however, how about slotted? is that bad or useless as well?

Also where do you guys reccomend i get rotors? do i only need the front ones most likely?

and what pads do you guys reccomend, and where can i get them, keep in mind this is a 98 I30, no brake upgrades, ABS, and sees very little if any track duty.

ohh and ill tack this on as well as its an easy answer (i think) what size is our exhaust piping?

 

do a 300zx brak upgrade t give u more rotor.....2.5" piping

 

get power slot rotors and hawk brake pads...no matter what the car is...this is by far the best brake set up. It's stops really well, lasts long and the dust doesn't isn't brown and doesn't stick to the rim. Try them out...worse case scenario get a big brake kit

 

i agree with 95mtlMASE ....I bought POWER SLOT rotors.....60 bucks cheaper on ebay then anywhere....and got some semi metalic or carbon brake pads to stop brake dust....fell in love with them.....looks great...just go very easy on them for the first 100 or 200 miles...they need time to break in ....think about buying a brand new motor...u dont just redline it and rev it till its red hot...u gotta brake it in softly....dont pull any speedracer tricks till after....or else u could damage them

 

Ebay is reliable enough for this? also should i get all 4 or just the front 2?

Don't bother with slotted rotors unless you are going to be at the track with them. Waste of money and wears your pads down faster, doesn't offer any better stopping under any conditions you will ever see on the street. Any ol' blank rotor and Hawk HPS pads and you are good to go.

I agree. I'd go with flats. I had x-drilled and slotted. All I got was a ton of vibrations under normal driving conditions. Got old really fast. I have flats right now. Much more comfortable, but I did notice slight.... I mean a slight loss in stopping power.

did you need a spacer? the part of the rotor that isnt used looks out of place.

i had no problems with drilled and slotted cobra rotors. just get a good brand.

I don't know what noise and vibrations people are talking about. I have had CDS rotors, cheap ones $120 for 4, and they are great. No noise, vibrations, and have lasted about two years in the NE with no warping or cracking. Much better than the oem pads in terms of cooling and brake fade. I have had axxis ultimates on them and they are the best setup I have had on my I30 so far. Braking is far superior than the oem setup in every way possible.
