3000-3500 rpm idle for the track - bad?
This is going to sound truly retarded but I know I've already talked about looking for a way to reduce drivetrain shock on launch. Would it cause any damage to run a 3000-3500 rpm idle for the track only?
Basically I'd just raise it up at the track only and put it back down to normal when leaving.
Reason I'd do this is to basically launch like an automatic. I'd sit at the line with the 3-3.5k idle and just release the clutch/floor it vs. straight dumping the clutch at 4-6k like I did last year (hard on the axles). It would also be good for consistancy & ET Bracket racing (Exactly the same launch RPM on every single run).
Thoughts? I would think it would act basically like a 3-3.5k converter on an auto.
Last time at the track I experimented @ regular idle (1400 rpms) and was able to pull a 1.93 60' on the 23-inch slicks launching at that rpm.

If it doesn't work yeah I'll get the EU.
But do you guys think it'll hurt anything rolling around in the pits and sitting at the line with a 3000-3500 idle?
I'm just gonna have make an adjustable bracket for the cable so I can adjust it at the track. Throttle response is going to be ridiculous (Excellent for good reaction times).
