KYB GR-2 with maxspeed springs

hey guys, i got my maxspeed springs, and now iam looking for some struts....i am kind of short on money, 450 is way too much to spend for illuminas...but i can handle 300 for kyb-gr2 struts....
what do u guys think? anyone had any bad experience with kyb-gr2 struts?
do they leak like some HPs do (blow)?
pls help me out, i can get KYB-GR2 struts for about 300 on ebay....
should i go for it? let me know please...
any positive and negative things...
thanks again

hey Huso, I know some people run GR-2 with maxspeeds no problem....i'm sure the GR-2s can handle the maxspeeds since they are a conservative drop....if your planning on something harsh like STECH, its recommended to go Illuminas or Konis so it can handle a drop like that

GR2 are not high performance struts. They are not warrantied when used with lowering springs. Get HP or Illuminas because Tokico will warranty the struts with a drop no lower than 2 inches. Gr2 are just good replacement shocks for use with your stock springs and yes HP are also very good with just stock springs.........

That is not correct. Quote taken directly from KYB's website

"The warranty does not apply to shock absorbers which have been modified, improperly applied or installed, or installed on vehicles used in racing or for commercial applications. The warranty is void if the product is used on excessively lowered (over 1.5") vehicles or in an aftermarket coilover suspension system. "

So if you are doing a mild drop they are covered under full warranty

Here is the full warranty info from their website.

SR runs the same struts on his teins s techs that used to be coupled with eibach springs. blu also ran the same strut on the same s techs with no issues.

I've run the KYB Gr2's with my HR's and I'm quite happy with them.
