Hood Pins installation?

Hello I would like some advice on installing hood pins....

Where did you guys use your bolts? I saw this website....

www.venommotorsports.com/library/hoodpins.asp

And he took off his bumpstops and used them to mount the bolts...do you maxima owners do the same as well? Any pictures would be appreciated....

also, I wanna know if this installation instructions seem accurate? I do have sparco hood pins so they most likely the same size drill bits as he is....

advice plz

On Omar's, he had 2 holes drilled in the hood where it meets the square holes in the frame near the headlights. So he did not drill holes in the car itself, just the hood.

I used existing holes in the radiator support.

Seems accurate to me. Always start with a small bit and finish with the dremel. Kinda like what he explaines in that write up.

If you go on Yahoo and type "hood pins", there are many out there, moroso, sparco, ex ex. Ive looked at the sparco's and those are probably the ones Ill be getting

Same here. Drillin the hood was nerve wrecking, but patience and a good eye will yield good results.

On both of my fouth gens I installed them the same place Dubbya did, and I used the same style of pins. I did not read the write up but this is what I did. I put the pins int he radiator support, marked the tops of the pins with white out, then closed the hood to make marks on it. I lifted the hood back up and had marks to the fiberglass skelton to drill thru. So I drilled thru the skelton. Once I made the hole big enough in the skelton using a drill and dremel. I marked the pins with white out again and closed the hood until the pins hit the carbon fiber. Once those marks were made I started out very small and drilled thru the carbon fiber. I checked to make sure the holes were centered, then I drilled thru with a bigger drill bit. After this I just used the dremel with one of those narrow sanding stones to make the hole the right size and shape. Once you have gotten this far I think you can figure it out.
