Need iPod help (posted in audio section but no one helped!!)
Ok before I get flamed or anything, I did post this thread in the audio section but no one would help me out. When I use my iPod I have a system that plugs into the 12v and then iPod sits in it to transfer power and signal. When I use the iPod there is a higher pitch noise in the background...kind of like you can hear the frequency or something? Anyways, when I press the brakes it gets louder, and when I turn on accessory lights (attached to the 12v), it goes away....Any other car I've tried the iPod system in works fine. Stock and aftermarket hu's produce no noise. Some reason it just makes the noise in my car. WTH?!
So the questions:
1) Is it my hu?
2) The Antenna?
3) 12v?
Someone please help me out! I'm trying to buy speakers soon and if I can't fix this I'll try to put in an aftermarket hu I have. I'd just really like to keep the Bose hu. Thanks.

Sounds like a grounding problem. I believe that the stock HU is grounded through it's iso-mount, so that shouldn't be it. The antenna may be the culprit, but I doubt it. You might even have a frayed wire somewhere. Sorry that I can't be of more help.
Does it do it when listening to the radio also? For the most part, FM modulators suck.

Nah, radio and cd (all that) is perfect sound. Its just when I use the iPod transmitter that works off the cigarette lighter. I do appreciate the input
t0p_sh0tta, it's more ideas then I had haha. I was thinking about the antenna not being strong enough. Is that possible?

try to eliminate the possibility. tried to put it on without the transmitter by using the cassette see if there's still any noise. try different transmitter, see whether that's the problem. i don't know much about wiring, hope this will help.
Does you fm transmitter have a volume control? I remember I had a high pitched engine speed-dependent whine (still do), i noticed it since it was a constant amplitude and I could "turn the volume up" and drown it out easily. It's still there but now it's barely noticeable. But it really seemed like it was coming from the built-in amp of the adaptor. If yours doesn't have an amp, though, then never mind.
