Air Bag Light!!!
i have a '98 air bag light and for some reason i can't take it away. i tried the instuctions in the manual and in the STICKY but those don't work. Is there another alternative to make it not come up besides going to the dealership and paying big money? please let me know. thank you!

ever think there could be an ACTUAL problem when a airbag light comes on?
personally i have a 98 as well and the light came on last month. I reset it back then and it went away. A couple of days later it came back. I did it again and it just stayed. I'm currently driving with it. I personally think there might be a problem wrong with mines. I have no reason to blieve something is wrong but if you try to clear it and it doesn't go away there might be a problem.

That is the system doing a self-test. Normally it takes longer because it needs a responce from the airbags. The other lights just turn off because they dont wait for a signal.
The light that euser985 and myslef are having is the light constantly blinking. Either while driving or sitting at idle. it just doesn't stop.

I had a similar air bag problem.
Turned out to be a bad connection at the wiring harness under the driver side seat. Unplug the connectors (even if they look tight) and make sure they are clean. Plug back in. See what happens.
I couldn't get mine to turn off but since I've done this, no more problem.
If nothing else, there are places besides the Nissan dealership that can fix this for you. If you know someone at a body shop, stop by and ask them who fixes these kind of problems for them. They'll most likely have someone they can point you to.
Good luck.
