Amber corners not matching bumper lights? - paint them! *PICS*

Some of you out there may be in the same situation like me so i figured i would tell everyone what i did. For the longest time i had some normal (as dark as i could find in the stores) 1157 amber bulbs in my corner lights. It never really matched which bothered me a bit. Well a week or two ago i asked myself 'i wonder if paint would stick to the bulb'? So i bought some 96 cent walmart orange paint (no high temp paint) and came home. I put two decent coats on the bulbs and let it sit for about 30 minutes. I put them back in and was VERY happy how it came out. For once there was a DEEP amber that matched the bumper lights well. After about two weeks or so, the paint on the bulbs is sticking great and no signs of fading whatsoever. Worst case senerio is if for some reason they do flake off or fade, i go buy new bulbs and redo it.

that looks nice.

wouldnt work for me, ive got clears in. but i also rewired my blinkers, so both the front blinker and the corner use the same size and brand of bulbs. just the side bumper is a little off now.

Yeah same here, you can see the amber from far away in the day time.

i'll take some day/dusk pics sometime soon if i can. I bought the silverstars too, and they weren't nearly as dark. These aren't the best shots but figured it may help some. Also, the paint i used was this wal-mart 96 cent can spray. haha thats all they had of orange.

Looks nice, but what is so great about the ambers so much? I seen someone on the org with painted or vinyl parking lights and looked very cool. IMO

^^ you have clear bumpers, so naturally the orange that it is producing is going to be much lighter than the stock ones. Those match fine, i just don't like aftermarket bumper lights.

They look good. Its too cold out for me to do anything to my car so I got desperate yesterday and bought some cheap ambers for $4 to stick in my corners. I've got the opposite problem though...the amber color on my bumper light bulbs burnt off and now they're clear. Got some black chrome bumpers in the mail to replace them...
