My auto in my 96 has seen about 170,000 miles of loyal service but the last 20-30k it's been acting up a bit. I have seen post with the same problems i have but was wanting an opinion from my fellow max owners.

Here's the deal, when your accelerating from a stop very lightly say 1-2 shift at 2300 and the 2-3 shift at 2000rpm the trans seems to get "confused". It will shift fine from 1st to 2nd then upshift,downshift, upshift. Weird cause it slips a little or something. But if your floor it anytime it shifts out perfect and hard. Only seems to do this when your lightly accelerating. Does anyone else have this problem?? If so how long has it been going on? I thought my trans was going out, but that was 20k miles ago. I wonder if changing the fluid would help?

 

It's hard to get ot to shift at 2k even if I try to. Drive it slightly more agressively.

 

Yeah i do normally, but sometimes in traffic stop and go it will shift at a low rpm

 

Mine does the same.

 

Help!!!! My auto max Is leaking tranny fluid what's going on?? Is the promblem gonna cost??
