350Z TB on 03 maxima?

Just wondering if anyone knows if a 350Z TB (vq35) will fit on an 03 maxima? I was wondering if it was a bigger size, because I could custom make an aluminum adaptor / spacer plate. Of course the wiring harness may have to be modified as well. And the maf retunes as well. Opinions?

hmm... I was thinking it might be a little bigger. Can't seem to find much info on what they modified on the 350 to get the extra 32 horses. Thought a slightly bigger TB would be there with manifold and exhaust upgrades.

I believe the gains that the Z/g35 get is from....

1. Intake manifold
2. Exhaust manifold
3. ECU
4. ????

I THINK the TB is the same size....don't quote me though...but I know for sure the Pathfinder TB and FWD VQ35s are both 70mm...right guys?

No idea about the TB, but I do know that a bunch of other stuff is different. For example, we have a dual stage IM and they do not, so things like ECU, VTC, etc is different. Don't remember the exact details.

Do a search on this, pretty sure its been discussed before...

Same size, same TB. Probably even the same part number.

Correct

p/n: 16119-8J101 used in 350Z, 3.5 Altima, Murano and 02+ Max

edit: Apparently the above number was superceded to 16119-8J103 and it is also used on the 04+ Quest

Nope. The 350Z intake VTC has a wider range of advance/retard than the other 3.5's and also has VTC on the exhaust cams.

The exhaust manifolds wont work since the Z33 is RWD, and your Maxima is FWD. the IM can be made to work, but the exhaust manifolds are a different story. There are manufactures that produce headers for the A33B, namely Cattman and Hotshot.

The tune maybe....the actual ECU, no.

JWT doesn't make ECU's for the VQ35DE.
