Hey guys been awile since I have had a chance to work on my Max, she's been giving me alittle hesitation lately so I thought it was a good excuse to finally put in a fuel pressure gauge.

I got the sender and gauge installed but I am recieving little to no signal on the gauge. I know the gauge is on ... so I was wondering if sender is in the wrong place. I have the sender t'ed in on the line running from my cartech fmu to the gas tank. This would be the same line that is connected to the FMU labled "OUT". Shouldn't I be getting some signal from this line?
I was thinking, maybe I need to move it inbetween the T-rex pump and the stock FPR. Any advice would be very helpful thanks much!

 

OK, answered that myself. Was a pretty stupid question. Found the answer in the sticky's. Sorry about that guys

Fuel tank ==> fuel filter ==> pressure gauge sending unit ==> fuel rail ==> fpr ==> fmu ==> fuel tank

 

BINGO! Do you have a FSM? If not, get one! Fast! The FSM tells you to install it between the fuel filter and fuel rail. I just installed mine today. It's very nice to have when trying to diagnose stuff.

 

I have an FMU, what is an FSM???

 

FSM = Factory Service Manual

It's a MUST have for anybody that works on their own Maxima. You can find them at your local dealership, but don't pay their raping prices.

Search ebay for "maxima manual" and you'll find something for your car. Expect to pay $30-100 for the manual. I got mine for $16, but that was an insanely great deal.

 

What about us guys that have the sender unit on the Aftermarket Fuel pressure Regulator ?? Do I need to relocate it ??

I believe this is how you do it..

Fuel tank ==> fuel filter ==> auxilary fuel pump ==>fuel pressure sending unit==>fuel rail ==> fpr ==> fmu ==> fuel tank
