Every time I go over a pothole, manhole cover, etc., I get this clunking noise from my right front suspension. I just had the C.V. joints and boot and struts replaced. What else could it be. A friend of mine said the stablizer link might be the cause of the problem, but his advice is shaky at best. Can some one help? Thanx.

Your friend may be correct. The bushings that mount the front sway bar to the chassis are very thin and easily torn. This could lead to the bar bumping against the bracket. You sould also check for loose lug nuts, bad/loose wheel bearings, bad ball joints and bad strut bearings.

I was getting a clunking noise a while back and discovered that the center hub on the left front wheel was loose.

Had the same problem when I hit potholes and sometimes when I turn the wheel. Had it checked out and it was my right spindle paid $250 to get it fixed

It sounds like something is loose because whenever I go over something, it hits hard on the right front. It is very noticable. Again, thanx for the help.

1st thing to check is.. ensure that the top front strut mount is that says OUT is pointing towards the wheel of the car.. or is in line with the lower bracket that bolts on to the car..

i had clunking noises when i turned and that was the cause..

Thanx for everybodys help. i went to Sears and had it checked out and it was the the strut tower mount. i had to have them both replaced, new struts installed, and have an alignment at the cost of $370. that sucks, but what are you going to do?
