255/40/17 zr rated tires on OEM SE rims!!
Honestly sounds bad, but even on my S-Techs and Illuminas there is no rubbing issues!!!! I love it, rides a lot smoother then OEM spec tires, and handling is A LOT better. Here's a few pics.

I can't stress how EXTREMELY UNSAFE that is.....whatever shop mounted those tires on those rims should be out of business.
Dunlop rates the SP Sport 9000 as APPROVED RIM WIDTH OF 8.5"-10"
Your stock wheels are 7" wide.
I suggest you get different tires IMMEDIATELY - you are asking for a monster accident when your tire shreds or slides off the rim...seriously, you are ASKING for a catastrophe here.

255/40's are not even CLOSE to in spec.
In the Dunlop SP9000 (which he has), even the 235/45/17 has a minumum rim width of 7.5"....
like I said, whatever tire shop put this on should be shut down ASAP, because they are complete idiots.
235's are the widest tire a 7" rims should see...
You made a HUGE mistake putting those tires on your car.
I hope you can still swap them, if not its time to go rim shopping.

TDot, please get those tires replaced ASAP.
Just in case anyone missed it the first 10 times it was posted here:
THIS SIZE TIRE ON THIS SIZE RIM IS DANGEROUS TO YOU AND TO OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD NEAR YOU. CHANGE TIRES IMMEDIATELY!!!

Or stop driving the car until you get new tires...

those tires are super underinflated!! everyone, i repeat everyone please get off the road before this idiot runs into you. GET YOUR TIRES REMOVED NOW BEFORE YOU HURT YOURSELF OR A INNOCENT PERSON!!

Me an idiot? Moron? To who ever you are the posted undermining statments to myself is the idiot (NYPD)!!!! I am not a f'in mechanic or tire person. I work in an office!!!!! Don't undermine statements towards myself. The shop said it was ok, therefore I assume it is ok. How was I supposed to know? I don't know everything. I will take the advice of those on here and go back as they were helpful in advising me, not disrespecting me. But screw you who have jumped to conclusions and named myself an idiot.
I posted this in good faith thinking it was ok as my car felt amazing after the tires went on not knowing what trouble can come of these.
To those who replied in good faith, thank you and I will have this taken care of ASAP as I do have warranty.

tire calculator says that there will be a 6% error:

TDotMax: even though many other tire sizes can be used with oem rims, it's best to use 225/50-17 because that's the only size that will not cause a speedometer error, and it's usually considered to be the widest tire size that can be mounted on 7" wide rims.

but it wouldn't make sense to go from 17's to 15's. Plus, going from 225/50/17 to 215/55/15 would result in 14% error in the speed.
actually you not doing any reasearch makes you almost as much as fault as the morons at the shop who put those on.
30 seconds of reasearch about those tires would tell you they dont go on that rim.
also those tires arent too spectacular. they are VERY loud, and didnt last long on my moms audi a6. also they didnt seem to grip well. i managed to slide the 5000lbs car several times around fairly tame corners.(going faster than i should but the car should have pulled through it better than it did without sliding. my max on stock 15's and cheap tires didnt slide as much in teh same turns)

Well I couldn't research when I'm at the shop and they tell me these are fine and the car will drive a lot better. I don't have mobile internet, sorry.
I recommend when you go back to have the shop print you our a copy of the screen they were looking at when they "picked" you tires for you. Or, if they used a book, photo-copy the page they were on.
Also note that not all brands have the 225-50/17 option. At TireRack.com, only 41 tires match that size, and of those, only 24 that are of the All Season variety (OEM Bridgestone Potenza is High Performance All-Season).
P.S. I know that sounds silly to state the obvious, but make sure they are inflating your tires to the proper pressure. It should be in the manual and on a sticker on your car (don't remem if it's door or glove box, etc.).

Again thanks guys, will have this taken care of. I was more worried about rubbing when they recommended it to me. I guess I fell for it but I am covered under warranty with them so no biggie there.

thats what i had when i had my oem wheels..
