First Time Running the Quarter Mile (14.0@99.55MPH)

I guess you could say we had a mini meet at Rockingham tonite for T&T.

Here are a few of my better runs.

BEST RUN (ET)

R/T-------.321
60-------2.176
330------5.982
1/8------9.121
MPH-----77.24
1000----11.816
1/4-----14.086
MPH----99.55

MODS are listed in my sig except I peiced together a custom "Ram Air" intake through the drivers side headlight. I forgot zip ties so it kept falling down so I never got the ram air effect, just cold air from where the headlight should be.

A few other runs

R/T-------.494-------.284-------.350
60-------2.164-------2.211-----2.317
330------5.989-------6.040-----6.159
1/8------9.144-------9.193-----9.304
MPH-----78.28-------78.30-----77.17
1000----11.834------11.886----11.999
1/4-----14.111------14.165----14.267
MPH----98.29-------98.21-----99.60(Best Trap)

Not bad for a 3.0 with USIM no ECU and no tuning on street tires

Thanks guys. Im not sure what my biggest power adder is. I think my car just responds well to mods, or the ones I have just work well together. The headers and Y are the infamous stone racing ones. Yes, I was running the buzzsaws with BFG Touring T/A tires at 25 psi. Hopefully next time with an excellent launch and perfect shifting I can hit 13's!!!!

You just may, you may want to try your stock wheel tire combo as well since the weight difference may pick you up a couple 10th's.
One more quick question.
Where did you have the mainfold ported and honed and how much?

I was running stock wheels and tires, those 18's are way to heavy for the track.........I just pulled the upper and lower IM's off and went to work with the dremel tool removing as many casting lines and as much material as I could reach with my flex extension. then I marked where the gaskets sat on each manifold and ground out the runners until they were the same size as the holes in the gaskets (gasket matching) this elimintes the turbulance in the intake where the upper and lower IM bolt together. I am not sure how much gain this got me, as I did it just because I happened to have the manifold off while working on some other things and my buddy who is all into mustangs was talking about it at the time. It is pretty easy to do, but like I said Im not real sure how much it helps. Im sure it doesnt hurt any.

Weight reduction: removed rear seat and passenger seat, no floormats, no spare tire/jack, no front drivers side headlight or corner light. 1/4 tank of gas. Nothing too crazy. Me = 175lbs

Excellent times. Go to www.wunderground.com, scroll down to weather history, click it, and then find out what the barometric pressure, temp, dewpoint, and relative humidity were at the time you made your runs. That and the track elevation, this way we can figure out the DA. I would go there right now and find out for you but I'm on dialup and that website does not work on dialup AT ALL lol.

Looks like ceasars got some competition lol. I think the p&p helps response if anything, I did it to my mevi and noticed it picked up off the line a little better then my usim, but after that it sucks till 5k and starts to pull again, but thats just the nature of the mevi. Im doing the same to my usim and lower to see if it really helps, no other mods. Who knows, and its basically free if you already have a dremel.

Temp: 53.6
Dew Pnt: 33.8

Do you have a dyno? I'd like to see what kind of power you're making. Good times but they seem a bit quicker than I'd expect for your mods. Of course your DA is gonna be pretty good too.

The DA at that time was 44 feet. DA is density altitude, basically with regards to racing it is used as a measure of how "good" the atmospheric conditions were for racing. 44 feet is a very good DA. It basically means that the temp, humidity, and pressure of the air you ran in was the same as running at a track 44 feet in elevation on a standard day.

It's good for comparing your runs to other people's runs, and also to other runs you will make. If you run at the same track again you can compare the DA from this time to the next time to see how the atmospheric conditions affected your runs. If you run way slower next time and then find out the DA on your next runs is 1500 feet, then you know why. If you run way faster and find out you've got a -1000' DA, you know why. It takes alot of the guesswork out of "why did I run so much slower/faster than last time?"

It's pretty complicated to calculate it. Easiest way is with a flight computer if you happen to be a pilot and have a flight computer (I do) or to just google "density altitude calculator" and then put in those #s I asked for earlier (temp, elev, dew point, baro) and then it spits out the DA. This is the one I use when I'm just on the computer

Damn that's fast - especially so for a natural breather with almost no mods...Caesar does have some serious USIM competition. I thought you were blown or turboed myself when I saw this thread.

yeah I hit the 14.08 the next run after you left. When we got ready to leave I remembered you had the 14mm socket to bolt down the passenger seat, so my friend rode home on hand tightend seat bolts.

those where about the best conditions Ive ever seen at Rockingham as far as track temps and track prep. Nice times, I left right after your 14.1 run right after you gutted the car.

00 VI, ECU, and some tuning on slicks you have a car deep into the 13's.

Wow this is amazing for your mods. Congrats, and on u going to the dyno. I must know what kind of power you're actually putting down.

By the look of the trap you are almost pulling the max out of the car. Get that 60' down to 2.0 and you are in the 13's!

He is probably not putting down that much power. Probably 185ish whp and 190ish whtq. It's just the combination of good driving, great weather, and weight reduction.

Lets assume those are his #s for a second. I make 6WHP and 5WTQ more than that. I can match the weight reduction, BUT Florida heat/ humidity will OWN me no matter what :-( hahaha. It definatly sets the bar for people to shoot for it. He's right up Ceasar's alley!

True true but Caesar's still ahead (13.97s at last count)...they're both brilliant considering they're both lightly modded N/A...a lot of force inducted maxes on here aren't as quick...

No, I didnt run on the "chromies" had the stock buzzsaws on. Those 18's are too heavy. I am about to leave N/A and install nitrous in the next few days. I went just to get a base of what my car runs as a natural breather. Lets just say it did much better than I thought it would. I guess if I were to get an ECU Id be running with you.
