Radar detector not staying in place

For some reason, my radar will stay up fine on the top of my windshield right under my rear view mirror via the two suction cups and clip, but it will fall off every few months. Its bad while driving because I won't expect it and it will fall off and swing by the cord. How can I prevent it from ever falling off?

Well you can use the ez-pass velcrow approch. Did you ever clean the cups? They could have some sort of oil on them that can't be seen...........Mine falls off when its in the sun for a while.

Yea, I've vleaned the windshield and cups many times. It happens more when I am either in the sun for awhile or when it gets cold after not being that cold for awhile. Pisses me off because its made to stay up and it doesn't.

Doesn't it disturb your view when its up there in middle of the window? And which model do you have?

the reason it falls on when there is sun is cause it gets heated up and the air has no way to get out so it fills up the suction cups and causes it to fall off. i have the same problem, all you have to remember is whenever you step in your car and it has been facing against the sun just press on the suction cups firmly and a pop will occur and then you will be fine

do you have tint in the front? this is your problem if you have. The cups won't hold the radar in place. I have tint in the front of the daily driver and the epasss wont stick to the windshield. my .02

I have the Passport 8500 and I have replaced the cups numerous times...The ones from the factory are pricey so I recommend going to home depot...they have a bag of 4 for a buck or so...plus they are slightly bigger and hold stronger.

try pushing them in once in a while to prevent falling. The temperatures outside, have lots to do with the cups falling off.

No tint and I do moisten them before I apply them. It is basically behind my rear view mirror so there is no problem with vision. If you stand behind my car, you can't see it. I just wish it would not fall or rattle ever.

I didn't put it up there because there is that strip of tint which will hinder the detector's ability to pick up radar a bit. Oh well, next time I am in home depot, I will pick up some cups. Thanks

Near the RearView mirror is bad if you have a system the bass will rattle the radar detector off. and also how much does tint on the windsheild hinder the radar capability
