Strut install headache

Alright, did the fronts today(H&R, Illuminas), drove it out, and the driver side was making a clanking sound, so I park it and jack it up, gonna double check to make sure I didn't mess something up. Long story short, I strip horribly one of the nuts to the top hat and haven't been able to get it off no matter what I try(PB Blaster I think it's called, and those drill like ratchet bits that supposedly are able to take bolts off, but so far have only eaten through the nut.). I just need to get the nut off, can get the replacement tomorrow, any suggestions?

do you have an RSB? if so, the bracket from that hits the axle beam on a lowered car. you need to move the brackets out a little towards the wheels

That I do not. I was thinking the spring isolator may have slipped, or the spring was incorrectly positioned. But it's mainly when going over bumps, like the spring isn't going smooth over the road, instead knocking something. I'm not sure how to describe it, the passenger side is fine, i'd just like to check to make sure I did it all right. Still have to get the bolt off now, if just leave it gonna have to remove in a few days once my FSTB arrives.

Q: At what point on a lowered Max is this in effect? Like anything lower than stock? I have a RSB and never heard of this, so I just wanted to check.

...sorry if it appears im hi-jacking. Im not intending to. Free bump tho...

Use a saw (dremel, handsaw, etc.) to cut the nut portion off the top hat stud.

just get a good pair of vise grips and use them. that's what i use on rounded off bolts. just make it extremly tight and it will work i'm pretty sure

I did that with two of my nuts on the hat, trying to remove them with a regular wrench/ratchet. I then realized how great a breaker bar is. Luckily, my floor jacks handle also serves as a breaker bar. Get one of those ratchets that locks onto stubborn bolts and use a breaker bar. It was a night and day difference.

heat the bastard up for like 3-5 mins with a propane torch, and it will be much easier to remove with vice grips

You stip the bolt when you were driving it around testing the new suspension or you stripped it manually?

You used a torque wrench right?

I stripped it while trying to remove, it was well on there after the torque wrench(i'd messed up and was removing it).

Fronts are done, now I need to tackle the back, and wow...those bolts are hard to get to, am I gonna have to sit in the trunk or any better suggestions?

Use an extension on the 3/8" ratchet and it will be a breeze.

I assume you're talking about the 2 nuts on the strut mount bolts. Take out your back seat - WAY easier to get at the top mounts that way. Just 2 10mm bolts to remove (at least on the 4th gen)

Only problem is my amp is mounted to the back of a seat, and I don't feel like taking it out atm, i'll try with the extensions, if that fails, i'll just do the back seats.

3/8 extension and a universal joint makes the rears easy as hell. dont bother removing the seat, and have an extra nut or 2 cause ur bound to drop one and they are a pita to find
