SE Suspension same as GLE or GXE??
SE Suspension same as GLE or GXE??
Alright I just went and picked up my car after having the steering rack and the rear struts replaced under my extended warranty (over $1000 in just parts). After I got home I was searching the part numbers listed on the service slip and it looks to me that Nissan uses the same rear struts under ALL 00-03 Maximas. I thought that the SE's had a stiffer "sport" suspension. The part number they listed was 56210-5Y025. The same part number is listed for GXE, GLE and SE. Are we all being
thinking that an SE has a better suspension?? Has anyone come across this before? Does anyone have a reliable site for searching part numbers?

I'm not sure what the dealership gave you or what the part numbers are, but the suspensions are quite different. They may have inadvertantly put the wrong parts on your car. I would question them. You may find the springs are the only thing different.
They are supposed to to get parts from your VIN so the parts should be correct. Call another dealer with your VIN and check the part #'s, if they dont match, bring it back and have them do it again.

This is a good site for nissan parts. And yes the shocks are are the same on all models, but rear springs on SE are different(stiffer).
