Manual fan switch
Manual fan switch
I'm want to do this mod and cannot find clear instructions on how to do it. I've been searching and found Jimes instructions but I still cant figure it out. I really need to do this before I go to the track sunday. I am not that good at wiring things so any help would be extremely helpful. If I could get a picture of how it is wired that would be great. THANK YOU!
I did this mod last spring.
1-Find the right wire running out of your ECU in Jime's instructions (I believe it is light green with a red stripe).
2-Run a simple wire from it to one of your driver seat bolt (what I used to ground it, you can use anything you want, the entire chassis serves as a ground).
3-Put a simple switch on that wire.
That's it. When you flip the switch, that wire is grounded, so your fan starts. It's as simple as that. I did it one random morning before going to the track.

i have not heard of a "cooler thermostat" mod. where is that?
and as far as the manual fan switch, thats a pretty tight little area to be soldering and cutting wires so if your not good at it, you should just take your time and work very slowly.
i used a knife to gently scrape off the plastic outter "skin" on the wire enough to loop my wire in there and make a connection, then soldered. simple concept though.
