If there are enough people who want official Maxima.org license plate frames, perhaps we can convince Jamie to do something about it.

By the way, I've offered to try to get license plate frames made for us if Jamie will send me the font he uses for the Maxima.org banner. I'm still waiting for his response.

I would be up for one as long as it is chrome, maybe just one that says MAXIMA on it or make a few one for each model MAXIMA GXE, MAXIMA GLE, and MAXIMA SE I think this is a good idea overall though

More than likely this won't be an option because it would cost too much to have that many different frames made. I think if we come up with one design, maybe in 2 different colors as some don't like the chrome or doesn't think it matches, then we can get this off the ground.

this issue has been discussed at great lengths in the past and jamie knows they are in high demand...im sure they'll eventually come...there have to be more important things to worry about then license plate frames...

Well I find it interesting that Jamie has time to worry about Maxima.org shirts . . . an issue I don't remember being discussed all that much . . . but not enough time to worry about license plate frames . . . an issue that's been kicked around here for a very long time. And if you think about it, Jamie really doesn't have to worry about license plate frames at all if he lets somebody else do the investigating for him, right?

So what's holding him back?

Yeah. I've seen those before, Kev. But I'd really like one that says Maxima.org and uses the same font (or a similar font if Jamie won't let us use his) as the banner.

Nice try, though.

Chrome for sure

But I'd also settle for Black plastic, with white lettering as long as it used the sleek Max.Org font to compliment it.
Might make for a cheaper alternative.

My 2 cents.

Feel free to print any Maxima logoed items that you feel comfortable with, however, we're going to wait about doing any Maxima.org license plate frames until sometime in the future.

I really don't understand why there's such a rush to get them done if I say that we're going to do them. I want to do them right, and I don't want to be giving people something that's only halfway done right. They need to be high-quality (which doesn't necessarily mean "expensive"), and I don't want to put the Maxima.org logo on just anything.

If everyone would just be patient, we'll get them done.

As I indicated in another post, Jamie, we've been waiting for Maxima.org license plate frames for a VERY long time. It's clear from the results of this poll that a lot of us want them. And yet when I asked about them recently in another post, you made it seem that it just wasn't that important to you. So I created this poll to give you some idea of exactly where we stood.

I can only speak for myself. But after all this time, I think it's stretching things a bit to ask me to "just be patient". By any measure of reasonableness, I've already been patient long enough.

I'm not asking for the frames tomorrow, Jamie. I'm simply asking you to provide an ETA for getting them made. Given how long this has already taken and the obvious interest on the part of your constituency, I challenge you to label my request unreasonable.

As far as printing any Maxima logoed items I feel comfortable with, I have one slight problem. I don't have your logo. If you won't let us know when you intend to get the frames made, I'd ask you AGAIN to either provide me with your font or your artwork so I can look into getting the job done myself.

Thanks.

All I can tell you is "not at the moment", and that's about as far out as I'll be projecting at this time.

So how about giving me your font or your artwork, Jamie? If it's any comfort, I'd be happy to sign an agreement stating that I will not use them for any purpose other than creating license plate frames. I'll also let you preview and approve anything I come up with before I make it available to Maxima.org members.

Is that too much to ask?

Well folks . . .

It appears that the fuggedaboudits are going to win. Jamie seems unwilling to take action or provide us with an ETA for creating Maxima.org license plate frames. And I, for one, am unconvinced that continued patience on my part will achieve the desired result. Jamie is also unwilling to share his fonts or his artwork so that anyone else can create Maxima.org license plate frames. Of course, we must bear in mind that this isn't a democracy and Jamie is Lord of all he surveys here. But his refusal to respond when so many ask for his assistance is unfortunate.

In keeping with the principle that out of sight is out of mind, I'll continue to bump this thread from time to time. And I encourage everyone to KEEP VOTING! Perhaps we'll eventually achieve some critical mass that will motivate Jamie to action. Or perhaps he'll relent and allow someone else to take action on our behalf.

Thanks to those of you who voted. And thanks in advance to those will vote in future.

KEEP THOSE VOTES COMING IN !!!

Apparently, Jamie has his reasons for not pursuing this right now, and I guess we have to respect that since he runs the place, but it would be nice if he'd give us a clue why he doesn't plan to pursue it anytime soon.

Plus, he said he wants to make sure they're done right since he doesn't want to put the Maxima.org logo on "any old thing". But in the same post he said we can go and do whatever we want on our own. That seems contradictory.

There are plenty of places to do this cheaply and quickly. For example, www.stickersetc.com does license place frames for very little money. They have no minimums and no set-up charges. If we get orders for 50 frames, custom chrome ones can be had for $7.95 + shipping.

Great post, Creature. There are any number of places custom license plate frames can be made. I agree that Jamie's reluctance to pursue this or at least tell us why he won't is dumbfounding. Even more dumbfounding is the fact that he won't let anyone else pursue it either.

And the votes just keep on piling up.
