I thought I had posted this but I dont think it went through.. If it did, I apologize for you guys having to read this twice.. I was wondering if anyone can suggest where/how I can get some wires in through the firewall. I have a 98 GLE. I took a look but I can't seem to find anything.

THanks...

I just went through this same problem. Look a few inches above the fuel filter. There is a black plastic plug in the firewall. Pull that out, it's not very hard, I did it with my fingers, and you have the perfect spot to run your wires. I can find pictures and post them if you need more info. good luck.

I just installed a new complete stereo system. To get the power wire from the amp to the battery I just went out the body in the space by the door hinges and then up under the fenderwall into the engine compartment. It doesn't touch anything and doesn't look bad. Just a suggestion.
