Y-Pipe Hanger Question

Ok I bought a Budget Y-Pipe and it was installed last week.
I went back today to install the hanger, and try to fix some noises I heard from the car. I was trying to put the bracket on, and it would not get close enough to the bolts on the Y. So I looked to see if you could put it in between the cat and Y and that doesn't fit either...

Any Ideas?

And I assume its not a good idea to not have a hanger there becuase it most likely will damnage the flex correct?

i left it out, but then it broke another part of a hanger because of all the stress. I left it out mainly was because the hanger would not of supported the exhaust in any way since the hnager was already so low. But now my b-pipe scrapes and i think has al il hole in it. Anyhow, I paid my mechanic like $40 to put on another hanger on since mine was pretty busted. The hanger itself is like $40. So i now have hanger there, but it makes noises when i go over a lil bump, like creaking noises. It bothers me, but its just so hard to work on the bottom of the car with only ramps and jack stands......

its not hard to keep it on.what you do is remove the 2 10 or 12mm bolts and then kinda stretch it out alittle bit and it should fit right on.make anysense?and the the top of the u in the bracket face up like an upside U.with the long side face towards the front of the car.
