Glad I lent my Max to the wife.

As I posted yesterday, my wife blew a rear tyre at 80+ and the Max stayed quite steady while she brought it to a halt.
I'd had a bit of vibration at 60 for a while, and thought it was a little out-of-balance problem. After the blow-out I now think it's more likely I had a sidewall bubble.

I went into work today after the holiday and discovered one of my colleagues, a young primary-school teacher, had not been so lucky. The same thing happened to her, on the Monterrey - MacAllen autopiste (a top class road). Two brothers and her in a VW Pointer. A rear tyre blew, possibly the driver was inexperienced, anyway he lost control. The car flipped twice, and when it came down it burst into flames. They were incinerated in the blazing wreck.
You guys who like to talk about doing well over 100 might like to triple-check your tyres before you risk it.

Wow....Im glad your wife was ok and im sorry for your loss

There is a lot of people that do stupid things without thinking of the consequences or checking their equipement. When I first got my liscence i would speed everywhere and did various speed runs to 100+. Now I take it easy on public roads and very seldom take it ober 80 on the freeway, or anywhere else for that matter. Too risky. People on this forum and others should realize that the next adrenaline rush can cost you your life...
