Realistic to run mid 13's ?

I have my goals of reaching around a 13.4, 13.5 in my max. I plan on doing:

-Greddy EMU, 00VI, good tune, 5th gen clutch setup, Y-pipe Back.

I jus want to know if my goal is realistic. Obviously, traction will be an issue, but slick or drags will be used.

Everyone will say "DO A 3.5 SWAP MANNN!!!" because everyone on this board thinks it the best thing since toasted bread. Shouldnt even had made that part of your post

What's better for the money?

I do kinda understand your point though. Sometimes people will completely ignore the question that has been asked when the poster is often-times not even considering the 3.5 as an option. It gets out of hand...

It can be done so it's "possible" but it's not exactly easy. You've got to be at the track in the best of weather condititions, your car has to put down very healthy power, etc. You are in NJ so you have some of the best tracks in the country at your disposal so you are lucky there. Whether or not your driving skill is up to the task will likely be the determining factor.

Ceasar is almost there w/o a VI. Krismax was almost there.

Do some weight reduction, light wieght wheels, ect... and you will make it.

Im a 96' SE, im from around the wayne area. Well, i ran a 14.7 my first out at the track at englishtown, with a 2.37 60'. Obviosuly my 60' sucks, but wasnt bad for my first time, especially since my key value crap was slipping and my trans was acting up. If i reduced that 60ft. by .2, i think i was looking at a 14.4. The thing is my trap was low.(92.7) My mods were basic: Short Ram/Y-pipe/Cat-back. Some say my car is a freak, but i really dont think so.

So if 14.4 was possible w/o engine management (rev limit extend, tune) and 00vi, and a good clutch/trans. I def. feel i can pull of mid 13's.. any thoughts ?

I doubt you'd pull a mid 13 without DRs on some light wheels and weight savings. A better question is, could you get into the 13s?, period. If you do go through with the VI, tuning and a better clutch, you should be able to hit 13s with good skills. Assuming some weight savings is involved.

Get to the track with a working clutch and we will have a better idea of what you and your car are capable of. A slipping clutch could be hurting you just a little bit or it could be totally destroying your time. You're definately going to need to be on a tire to see mid 13s, that is pretty much a given, unless you completely shatter the current street tire 3.0 record which you shouldn't count on.
