need new starter, cheaper the infiniti?

my starter is about to go on my 2000 i30, and I was wondering if this is something I need to have done at infiniti service or can I go somewhere else (where I might save more money)

thanks

Any competent mechanic should be able to replace a starter.

its not that tough of a job if your willing to tackle it yourself. it should take you about a half hour (if its your first time) to get the battery and intake out. If youre lucky your starter bolts won't be incredibly stuck in there like mine were. they're long so just be patient and i say take full advantage of leverage using two wrenches unless of course youre blessed with powertools....goodluck
