head to head, you should lose. the sc400 has a 290HP V8, with a 0 to 60 around 6 seconds. the older ones are around 250HP with a 0 to 60 around 7 seconds.

yeah, i think the sc will win too but not by much. arent they tanks? ive taken a sc300 easily and those a lighter then the 400s with a 225 or 240? hp V6..im not to sure about a 400 but i think it would be close...

the sc300 has the same engine as the gs300, the inline 6 @220 ponies. the sc400 is bigger and heavier than the sc300. Between the traction control, VVT and selectable 5 speed auto, it doesn't look good.

My brother has an SC400 and that thing is pretty quick. If you had a manual trans then that's a different story. You have an auto so don't even think about it. He won't smoke you but you will not win either. If he is a good friend you will never hear the end of it.

out of curiosity, what kind of mods would it take to beat a stock sc400?

I think it's safe to assume you would need every NA mod under the sun, or alternatively a S/C. If you have S/C *and* all the NA mods, you should be racing RX7 TT's, Turbo AWD Eclipses, and umm, SCed Camrys... (anybody remember my race w/ that TRD Camry?... I lost on the frwy... badly)

SC400's are dogs off the line. They don't stand a chance against a sc max. The'll take a na auto in the long run. Trust me, I work for Lexus.
