He drove my car and noticed a huge difference, so he wanted to run his stock auto vs my 5spd. We did several runs, roll, off the line, him a head start. It was really embarrasing lets say. I mean off the line, 2-3 cars back, head start by top of 3rd (1 car head jump) rolling, he was one car back by top of 3rd, then again highway run, he stabbed it, I just blew past him. He was like man the auto sucks!! It does!

yah i really like the maxima 5-speed its a seriously nice transmission compared to some other cars, however i would be so depressed driving an auto in a car with so much more potential :-)

Autos

I guess the only way he will beat you is to mod his auto and then again at resale time. Most dealers buy 5speeds much lower than autos as their usually beaten on harder and only 1/2 the population can drive the things. Friends don't race friends.....so go buy your 2nd place buddy a beer!!!

There's an art to driving an auto, just like there is to driving a stick. You're friend may not know how to take full advantage of his automagic. I see 1/4 mile times of manual 5th gens that equal my automagic runs.

That being said, I know the stick offers the best performance on the Maxima.

Well, he autocrosses, and use to have a 4th gen 5spd maxima, his nickname was Bingo on here. He powerbraked it, we both spun off the line he manually shifted, heheh it was embarrasing to say theleast..
