I was looking at the warpspeed website trying to find out some prices on exhaust parts and they have a b-pipe with a resonator and one with out, whats the difference?

I believe it is a device used to quiet down your exhaust note, or is it the other way around...

Look at the exhaust pipe from the cat, back to the muffler..You will see a "bulge" in the pipe...That is the resonator..It's function is to help the muffler with noise reduction...

i just have a basic OEM replacement cat-back... nothing special at all.....but it was only used for 1000 miles......it should fit the VE motor also... im pretty sure the exhausts are the same... well besides the y-pipe

From what i understand, the resonater helps with the swirling of the air, so it can hurt performance a little if you plug it up or don't have it. If you do plug it up or don't have it, though, your engine will sound louder and beffier. Some guys will plug there's up for the sound and say there isn't any performance difference, but I don't know..., there's probably a reason nissan made them.

The resonators only purpose is to quiet the intake airflow,it has nothing to do with performance...

my resonator rotted out and when i took it off and welded a pipe in its place my car became a huge ricer . i didnt notice any performance difference, if there was then only a dyno would notice. i have the warpspeed full exhaust with a magnaflow muffler and with the resonator it sounded good. then when i took it off, it made my car annoyingly loud. outside i almost sound like all the rest of the honda's. sadly enough, they all think my car is so much nastier cause it becomes very loud especially under nitrious. when i have a couple extra $$ to burn, im getting another muffler. i like it loud but i dont like being compared to my neibors lawnmower

I had my resonator in the middle removed because it had a hole in it. I replaced w/ pipe, and then put on a free flow muffler. Sounds deep, not a ricer at all. No Hp gains though lol.
