I've painted the windshield washer fluid tank cap, coolant reservoir cap, brake fluid reservoir cap, radiator fluid cap, oil dip stick handle, and FSTB brackets, all with a bright red caliper paint. It was an easy process and I used two LIGHT coatings with no clear. Obviously remove all caps/items when painting. Dried each with a hair dryer on warm setting for 4 minutes and again at cool setting for another 4 minutes. It's been over a month and no fades/problems so far.
