1st timer changing my fuel filter and pcv valve

OK, so I am going to attempt to change the fuel filter and PCV Valve tonight. I am not worried about changing the PCV Valve, but not sure what is involved in the fuel filter.

Anyone done this on their own? What's involved and is it easy? Anything I should watch out for? Any tips and tricks I should know?

OK, so I am about to kick the S**T out of this car! Everything went fine and then when I tried to pull the bottom hose off the fuel filter, it wouldn't budge and YES i did loosen the strap that holds the hose onto the filter! SO i finally got it off and now I am trying to put the new filter back on and the DAMN HOSE is only going on the filter a little bit, BUT not all the way~!!!! If the hose is on the filter a little bit and I clamp down the clamp on the hose, should it be alright? OR do I have to push the hose all the way up the fiter pipe to the filter body???

I think I am going to try this and see what happens. Wish me luck!!!!!!

Alright, well I am finished and there don't seem to be any leaks or anything bad, so I guess it worked, but What a F-ing pain in the *** it was to change the fuel filter! I will leave the fiel filter to Jiffy lube from now on.

SO, a run down of car stuff that got done today:

Replaced the fuel filter, air filter, and PCV valve and replaced all 4 tires. Oh, and I poured in some engine component cleaner in the tank. I needed new tires soooo freekin bad! It is amaizing how smooth the ride is now. It's like a new car ride. lol

One more thing, replaced the rear break pads today and she is oooooh so quiet....

Congrats, doc. I thought you said you don't usually work on mechanical stuff. BTW were you able to isolate the cause of your acceleration hesitation issue?

Thanks Hasei. Yeah I don't usually do the mechanical stuff, but I thought I would try it and see how it went. LOL Thankfully, all seems to have gone well.

As for the hesitation problem, I am still having it although I will say the car drives very smooth and has a lot more power, but I am still having the hesitation issue.

I am thinking of trying to replace my muffler next. Maybe in a month or so.

Sup everyone,
sup Dr. Monkey,
So after 2 semesters of having a bunch of crap in my apt I finally put them on the car.
I got a new y-pipe, 2 oxygen sens, a b&m sts and a new stock muffler.
I still need to change my b-pipe, that crap is falling apart bc of corrosion and lowering the car did not help much.

I had some hesitation as well b4 because of my 2 front O2 sensesors were shot, now the car runs a lot better with new o2 sensors and has a little more response on the higher rpm due to the y-pipe.

The new sts is so close to the dash is hard for me to change gears I'm 6'1 and 200pd, I hate the position of the shifter, it's made for freaking midgets, argg.
