Need Quick Help to anyone with a couple of minutes and a clue

2 Things

1) Trying to Reset my ECU using the little screw on the ECU itself. I have done it before, but when I tried today the screw does not stop anymore, now it will turn forever. It used to stop after a few turns either way.

2) When my manual Maxima is just sitting off or at idle and I move the gear shift around it is very loud and if I had to guess I would suggest a hollow sound. Is there an easy way to check the fluid level or top it up? Any other ideas why it sounds like ***? It drives and shifts fine...

Thank you very much to anyone who can help me out

That screw is delicate, you broke it.
Need a OBDII tool now.

Fack seriously? I was worried about that, will disconnecting the battery reset the ECU also?

No it wont reset the ECU by unhooking the batt.

Are you saying the car makes a noise when you push the shifter (one way or the other) when running? Thats probably the shift fork touching the syncros sending vibrations down the shift linkage which you hear. Mine makes a noise if I push on it slightly.

Is there any way for me to reset the ECU then? (other than an OBDII tool)

When the car is at Idle or off and I press the clutch and rock the shifter left and right or go through the gears it sounds almost hollow, and it seems loud to me, just wondering if the other standards sound like that.
