Door moldings/protectors

i was detailing my car like i try to every friday afternoon at work , and i noticed that the lil "door ding" protectors on the side are beginning to somewhat show signs of wear and tear, I was thinking of taking them off since they appear to be just double sided taped on, i know the body guy at my dealership so he knows the magic of bondo IN CASE any small holes from clips are left, so thats not a worry, but i was wondering if anybody here has "shaved" them or peeled them off? SORRY FOR THE FUZZY PIC ITS A OLD PICTURE I FEEL LIKE TAKING NEW ONES

EDIT********* this is Bryans friend at his house posting this up for him, he told me to do this at dominicks when we bought booze********

Door projectors? You mean ding protectors?

The mouldings can be shaved, however you'll have to fill up some holes, etc... (not like that you sicko)

shave em if you can, it looks 'cleaner' with it imo....
some people like em to help prevent door dings, but if thats the case, might as well keep the ride in the garage.

your paint may have faded a bit, and you may be able to notice a slight difference from where the strips were. I doubt it wouldd be too noticable to anyone other than you though, only becasue you know it would be there.

There will be holes in the door when you remove them.
