I left my rachet set in the backseat while installing neon tubes and when I was cleaning up, I found a small tear in the rear seat on the driver's side... I'm so ****ed!!!
It doesn't even seem like it's real leather.. Only the middle part of the seats seem to be real unless they started putting fabric under the leather..
My question is.. Is this covered under warranty or do I have to buy one of those leather fixing kits?
Dam, I thought cloth sucked, I never had to worry about cloth ripping so easily like this!!!

I dun think they'll cover it if it is for cusmatic or "abusive use". it has to be manufacture flaw..

Well, first off the dealer will say you caused this it's your problem.
I looked into replacing just the left bolster of my old 89 SE Maxima. The estimate was around $350, leather and labor, plus the color would be off a little.

You can find an interior shop which does after market work,
street rods, etc. but it will cost plenty to replace that panel.

Maybe sheep skins for the back is in order.

Man that sucks. I hate it when stuff like that happens. Somehow I don't think thats going to be covered under warranty. Try and find a leather repair shop in your area. The good ones can repair tears and rips quite well. I had a friend who had his leather jacket repaired and I couldn't tell where the repair was made.

Guys!!! Thanks for all your sympathy...
I'm so angry that I was careless enough to let this happen...
For all those that have the leather interior.. Be very cautious!!! Nissan leather is very thin... Just like their paint!!!

You are correct that only the 'seating surface' is leather. The rest is some type of vinyl crap. This is true for most makes, so it isn't a cost cutting measure exclusive to Nissan. Also, as others have suggested, the dealer will claim that it was not normal use that caused the rip. The good news is that the vinyl should be a lot cheaper to repair. Don't they have info-mercials for some type of miracle repair kit on Sunday mornings.
Good luck.
