Phantom Fuel Check Valve

Supposedly from the FSM there is a fuel check valve on our cars between the vapor canister and the fuel tank vapor outlet. I can't find it and the FSM gives no clues as to its' whereabouts. Anyone know where this checkvalve hides? From the FSM it looks like it has like a Molly bolt connector that press fits into a hole to support it, but I've gone over the vapor system from front to back and don't see it.
