I would appreciate any guidance on how I should proceed after extracting Diagnostic Code 1005 (EGR solenoid valve or circuit fault). Does this code require immediate attention?

Thank you for any advice you may have.

The test procedure for this part is found in the Chilton repair manual (page 4-11) and the Haynes repair manual (page 6-20). Test the valve and replace if necessary.

This malfunction is not an emergency but should be resolved fairly soon (7-10 days). An inoperative EGR valve may result in engine pinging and a variety of driveability complaints.

Did you end up resolving this issue?
How? what was it?

I have the same code, I can't find much info on it.
Please help if you can.

I got the code 1005, which is about EGR solenoid valve (not EGR valve). I tried to buy this part in Advance Auto Parts, but they don't sell that. I searched it on Internet but no result. Who knows where I can buy EGR solenoid valve for 96 Nissan Maxima? Please tell me, appreciate!

You'd have to go to a dealer. Try Pinnaclenissan they're in Arizona, but would be happy to ship. I think I paid around 70 for this part. Please keep in mind that the part is in a very tight space and takes some patience to take off. I used one of those foot craw wrench to reach in to take it out.

Could not find EGR Solenoid Valve anywhere

You are right. It is EGRC solenoid valve, not EGR valve.
I checked Pinnacle Nissan, they don't have EGR solenoid valve. I wonder why all companies have only EGR valve, but not EGR SOLENOID valve.
Who can help? Thanks.
