I got a couple of q. for those who had their tails red/cleared.

How long do i have to keep them in oven since i dont have a heat gun and what temp to choose.
Have you experienced any leaks after this mod.

Put it on like 220. Leave for about 7 minutes.. Make sure the little screws are out of the taillights before putting them in the oven. If you leave the taillights in there too long, there going to shape, meaning the lense will have a curve to it seeing as the heat will be melting it.

Experienced no leak at all. And take your time opening it, dont rush it or your going to crack it

lol take off all the bulbs and screws. I heard of ppl rapping it in a moist towel and putting it in the oven for about 10min at 250. If it didn't melt the glue put it in for another 2-5min.

 

make sure u put the top part of the taillights laying on the bottom. I put them on the rack how they would normally be on the car, and one of the corners melted slightly and is curly. no leaks though. i did 7 minutes at 240. just keep checking up on it and wear gloves. you're bound to get that black glue all over and probably on your lense. i used some alcohol pads and they came right off. goodluck, one of the best mods for the 97-99's. i'm just mad i didnt AE my headlights at the same time.

ok, so with 95-96 all clears, is there a sure-fire way to do this correctly? i'll unscrew the four studs first. then i'll put them in the oven on a cookie tray, lens side up. should i wrap them in a wet towel? 200 degrees for 7 mins. then take them out and see if it will seperate at all. what about the four nubs? (two on top, two on bottom) do those need to be pryed at all? i'm confused on where to pry and how they come apart.

 

6-7 Minutes at 240 with a convection oven.

Yes try to push in the nubs, and also just areas where the lense meets the hoursing. If it doesn't seperate at first that's fine, taking your time is the key.

After a couple minutes if you don't get it, put them back in for another 3 minutes or so and try again.
