I need a new muffler

Hey everyone, I am about ready to need a new muffler and was wondering if you could help me out. I am not looking for anything that will improve performance or make noise, I just want a new shiney muffler for the car and I would like to install it myslef. Something that will look nice and keep the classy look of the car.

I have seen auctions for mufflers that are like $20 for dual pipe shiney mufflers, but what the hell? How can anything be $20?

Anyway, if anyone can point me in the right direction of a quality muffler that is shiney and that I can install myslef, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance and have a great night.

the 5 gen it's not direct replacement, so u have to take it to a shop.
I just got my muffler replaced with an OEM nissan and put on a nice tip, and I really like it.
Good luck

You can drill a hole in your oem muffler to make it louder, since that's what's gonna happen when you buy a 20 dollar ebay muffler =)

Hello All

Hey everyone. I'm still kinda new to the org, but I wanted to ask some questions about the exhaust systems out there.

I wrecked my gold 2000 I30 w/80K miles and now have a silver 2000 I30 w/ gorgeous black interior and only 35K miles.

I've owned it for about a month now, already cleared the corner lenses, clear side markers, 14% tint, 18" wheels, and I have the intake on order from Berk Technologies.(is this a good company???)

I am looking to throw some money towards it next month, but I wanted to ask those of you who have these "Cattman Exhaust Systems"...

How loud is this exhaust setup? Under normal city driving conditions (keeping it under 3,500 RPM, how is the interior noise? and does installing the catback setup affect the reliability or cause the SES light to come on?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Kev

The y pipe and b pipe really dont make the exhaust all that loud. If you still have on the oem muffler, it will sound near stock. However, if you put on the cattman muffler as well, it becomes louder... much louder. I had the cattman muffler for only 4 days and then I went back to oem because it was too loud.
