ES Control Arm bushings Ride quality

ES Control Arm bushings Ride quality
Do these bushings have any effect on ride quality? It seems to me that installing stiffer bushings will make the car handle better but sacrifice some ride quality because the rubber bushings help absorb shock. Is this true? I do not, in any way, wish to have a harsher ride.
