Your take on the I35 price
Your take on the I35 price
Guys,
What do you think $14K for 2002 with 50K on it in descent mechanical shape with 1 previous accident with mostly cosmetic (but listed on CARfax as accident) damages. Fixed by the repair shop on C, so you can see it.
Please give me your 2 cents.
Thanks

The good thing for us is that you usually can get a good deal on an I35 since they're nowhere near as popular as some of the competitors. Keep searching and you'll come up with something for sure.
I was just looking at an '02 I35 at my local Nissan dealership. It was black with charcoal leather, 38,000 miles with navi. He told me the "book" price for it was $19,995 and that the internet price of $17,995 is as low as they could go. I found that to be strange that Kelly Blue book doesn't even list it that high. I thought since it was an I35, I might be able to deal but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I will be paying in cash and for some reason it's hard enough for me to get any dealer to even talk to me, let alone to get a manager to give me the time of day. Seems like no one wants to sell me a car. I'll wait and see whats happens and drop an e-mail to the "Internet Sales Manager."
I paid $12.5k in August for my '02 I35 w/ 82k miles. It was in an accident in 2003.
It had been driven for 2 years and 40,000 miles after the accident and the car is doing fine now that it's about to hit 100k. I don't understand why someone would refuse to buy a car that had been in an accident as long as it was a good repair.

I guess it all comes down to how much you are willing to take chances. Depending on the nature and extensiveness of accident, you may not have any problems for a long time. But 14K is a lot of money. If you are thinking about owning the car for a long time and/or re-selling it, I would think twice about buying a car that was previously in an accident.
