Sticking caliper

So, last week my girlfreind was following me back to our apartment and she noticed when I stopped at a light at the end of the exit ramp that my driver side rear tire was smoking. I smelled brakes burning, but my first thought was it must be the tractor trailer that was stopped on the side of the ramp. little did I know it was my car. Anyways, I checked out all the brakes (ie. removed and inspected all calipers) nothing looks rusted or leaky. My question is will replacing the seals (caliper rebuild kit) fix my problem for good, or should I replace the entire caliper? Replcaing the caliper wouldn't be any less time consuming since I would need to buy more caliper paint to repaint the new one to match. Also anyone know if the stock calipers are akebono? I would like to replace the bad one with OE parts, not no imitation garbage. I will also be upgrading to SS lines and instaling new sets of EBC greens in the front since there getting a little thin, as well as new hawk HPS in the rear.

Question

1. How to best fix my problem
2. Akebono calipers OE
3. Where to buy parts

Can somebody help me find a part on the autozone website? In the service manual they call it the torque member. It's the part that bolts on to the back of the rotor and hold the caliper piston. I has the 2 rubber (springs?) that stretch and hold the grease. The problem with mine is that one of the rubber parts is stuck and I can't get it out. I'm not sure if it's called the pin, but if anybody has a fix or can point out the part I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Dan

It is indeed called a pin. I tried to buy one seperately but the best I could find was that it comes as part of a 'Caliper Hardware Kit', which was like $47 and special order at Autozone.

I recently replaced one of my rear calipers because I had the exact same problem. The caliper from Autozone did not come with a new torque member (caliper bracket). I purchased another one from Parts Plus that did for around the same price ($100). The first one I got was defective and started spewing brake fluid after 100 miles. I swapped it out for another one and no problems yet 600 miles later...at least I'm very familiar with the whole process after doing it twice on both rears.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering how did you get the pin out. I tried again today, but it's pretty stuck in there. I was thinking if I could get it out I could clean it off, regrease it and still be able to use it. Also do you know why this happens so much on our rear calipers? I don't know if it's a defect - maybe changing the brake fuild will help?

My right rear caliper seized up a few months back, it had a constant squeaking sound until I came to a complete stop.

I pulled, twisted, and beat on that thing for days and still couldn't make it budge. I found for the price difference on the caliper itself vs. the caliper and bracket together (~$15) that it really wasn't worth the frustration and I just replaced the whole assembly. I made sure to use PLENTY of grease on the new pins. haha

My brother just bought his 4th gen and the car was parked in my buddies garage for 7 months. We backed it out and the ebrake was stuck on. I think it rusted or something. We are just going to replace the caliper.
