Only 6 days with the max and look what happened to it

as you all know i got my 2nd maxima (previous one destructed by a idiot who ran a red light) about 6 days ago...... (1999 SEL Steerling mist)

I was only parked for about 30 minutes and some ****ing douche bag keys BOTH doors on the passenger side, most the paint damage was inflicted on the passenger door. Then somehow the same ******** managed to do this somehow, i dont think it was with a car. Will touch-up paint do the job and make it look flawless again? whats a good site for touchup paint?

Here is the damage:

(i circled the paint damage in yellowish orange color)
Front passenger door

The rear door

The bumper

If you

have a buffer/waxer get some rubbing compound and try and buff it out.

Touch-up paint will look horrible.

This kind of nonsense drives me insane. Anyone who is caught molesting cars gets punched in the throat, even if its your grandma.

Borrow or buy

one. I can tell you 100% that touch up paint is not the answer.

Touch-up paint is only for small paint chips or "road rash".

i wouldn't use touch up paint ... take it to your most trusted body repairman, have them do the bumper and buff the whole car out.

For how much? Can some one give me an idea on the price on fixing just the key marks?

Then how much would just the bumper cost to fix?

Then whats a fair price for both for be fixed at the same time?

Yeah it was about 2 months for me, some douchebag parks in MY spot for the third time on a weekend so I park temporarily, leave a note on his window to move and when I come back he had gone around my entire car, the bastard got 5 body panels.

Anyway I feel your pain man, I'm still furious every time I see my car.

$50 tops for the bumper + buffing everything ... nothing higher ... that is pretty minor work.

One suggestion .. if you can't visibly see any depth to it, it probably wasn't done with a key.. probably just some plastic or something else that left a scuff mark. I have used the F21 car polish (green bottle) with much success getting out marks such as yours. Get a nice terry cloth, dampen it, apply the polish and slowly circle over the marks. Start with a gentle action, if that doesn't cut it use more elbow grease.

I have a 200,000mi Mercedes that looks like it just came off the showroom floor. The secret? Polish. Once a month. Wax just covers up problems.

Complete bummer. Looks like metallic with clear-over, am I right? I really feel for you.
I dunno. I am trying to imagine myself faced with that. I think I'd give it a try, because hell, if it ends up looking worse, it still isn't going to cost any more when you have to have it sprayed.
Think I would very carefully mask the scratches and use touch-up paint till the level is slightly above the surrounding paint. Wait till it hardens off. Patience. Then remove the tape and very very carefully use something like 1000 wet-dry, wet of course, to flat it and blend it into the surrounding paint. And finish by delicately applying a clear-over from a can. It won't be perfect but it might look a lot better than the scratch.
Just can't understand the mentality of those who do that kind of crap. Haters, I suppose.

Don't you have comprehensive insurance. If so, there should only be a modest deductible. Get it fixed properly. It shouldn't affect your rates as it is malicious damage you had no control over.

Check out your insurance policy. This is a prime example of what insurance is for. To get the job repaired properly will cost several hundred dollars.
