Mine is more comfortable up, so i leave it up. It aggravates me when passengers put it down!

It just depends on my mood...but then again I drive an automatic which doesn't require constant shifting.

How did you rig your shut, I made an account on this site just to figure out how to stop that freakin thing from popping up every 5 seconds. I have a 5speed 2000 and everytime I shift it pops up

thanks

The center console is a PITA. The latch broke, so it does pop just with a hint of touch. It is a PITA!

I have long arms, but I sit tall/forward so I bang it once in a blue moon.

This has always annoyed me on my 2000 SE as well. I am a bit shorter (5-7) and have a manual, and periodically I bump that dag gone button and it pops up.

Minor annoyance since it doesn't happen real frequently (granted since I'm aware of it I've probably grown accustomed to avoiding it subconsciously).

Gotta replace the latch. I banged it one time and the freeking latch broke...in the heat of being pissed off, randomly just popping out.

I put mine up to rest my elbow on when I talk on the phone. Other than that, its usually down. Looks silly sticking up IMO.
