Check the brakes, does anything feel overly hot? You could be dragging a brake.

could be one of 3 things:

belts too tight

oil burning over engine (did you have an oil change recently?)

alternator going bad

what kind of burning smell is it? i rememeber a while ago under heavy load going uphills my car would have this nasty burning smell. turns out a plastic bag had melted to the flex section of the y-pipe. remnants are still there... so yeah check under your car to see if anything has melted to the exhaust components.

a piece of duct tape got under mine and also burned like that. I pulled it off but the smell stayed, 3 weeks and an underbody wash later the smell was gone.

check under your car along the exaust pipes just because you can smell it from the front doesn't necesarily mean it's coming from the engine.

get an underbody wash too and see if that will help

When I had Mitsubishi I had some burning smell inside.

So I found that it was a wire inside the steering wheel column that was burning when I was turning the high beam on .
