Ground controls and spring isolators (4th gen)?

I have ground controls on my my 95 and I was getting noise from the rears. So I looked into it last night. My problem is coming from the upper spring perch pushing thru the isolator (thick rubber peice) and then I get a rubber squeeking noise. Does anyone have experience with this? I actually have been very happy with the ground controls so far as far as drop/handeling/noise and would like to get this figured out. The other twist that I have thrown into this is that I am using Ben's rear long travel mounts so the isolator is free to slide around since there is not a groove for it to sit in. I am thinking I need to make custom isolators. Does anyone know where I can buy thick enough rubber to make isolators? Or has anyone sucessfully corrected this problem. Thanks for any suggestions.

remove the rear mounts and see what happens. If the noise goes away then you have found your issue....

have the long travel mounts machined with grooves for the perch in it.

sounds easy enough to me.

I think they are too thin for that. Basically the top of the pearch has a hump in it so that it will fit into the stock mount. A groove would not hold it. Plus the isolator is still too big so the pearch is still going to push thru it.

Then you either need to have the right parts machined or take them off completely. round plug, square hole.

why not just make a rubber isolator that actually fits?

Can you post a pic? I have bens mounts, CG's, and while they are not on the car they seem like I put them together well. I dont think there will be any noises. I dont remember the exact order of parts, but there is a bunch of rubber bushings all over between the metals.

I already returned them to the stock rear mounts so I cannot post a pic. But when you have the ready to go on the car you will see what I am talking about. The upper spring perch for the ground controls is about the same diameter as the inside diameter of the stock spring isolator so with the wight of the car on it, it pushes thru. I returned mine to the stock mounts and I have no noise so I am happy. Currently I am running the GC's with AGX's and I am very happy with the ride quality and the lack of noise. I used the write up that was done on the 200sx, with the duct tape and silicone, and not using the rubber spacers, and I am very happy.
