Busted Exhaust System - Pleasant Surprise!!

So I was due for a new exhaust system, since mine was rusted to $hit - having been a Michigan car.

The other day I was driving by Union Station and this damn sewer cap was jutting way out of the ground right in my lane, so of course it scrapes the bottom of my car and loosens something in my exhaust system. So I've got the new parts on the way, but the best part about it is -

I haven't gotten this fabulous of gas mileage in years!!

I've been trying so hard to figure out what the hell is milking my mileage and have replaced tons of things. but now I see that some rusty pipes can really f you up! Never thought I'd say this, but thank god for crappy DC roads.

ohh yeah, exhaust leaks cause a drop in Exhuast Escape Velocity, a key component in engine power and efficiency. A hole in your exhuast not only sounds bad, but robs you of power and money.

It may be affecting my power some, but what I said is that my gas mileage is WAY BETTER
