Was driven the car last night and my friends following me in his 3.2tl type S and i always spank his car pretty bad.So now we line up at a light and go to have a little fun and i pull as always then my check engine light came on and he pulled away from me fast.It felt like my power just disapeared,i got it in the shop right now but still havent heard from them.Any ideas.....maybe a ks.?

 

Could be many things...to try and say what it could have been is really unnecessary. Could be knock sensor, however it would NOT have tripped the CEL. Could be your coil packs, among other things.
If you don't have the car in your possession to check for engine codes yourself (extremely easy to do), then you can only wait to hear back.

 

yea got the call back from the shop its the ks...Well this sucks but looks like i will be hunting for a new one.Anyone have any ideas where i can get a ks for a descent price?

Try internetautomar for your sensor. He's a fellow orger.

 

Strange because KS won't trip the CEL, make sure that was it. sometimes mechanics won't find what it is and automatically tell you it's "X thing" and "fix" it hoping you won't find out they had no f*cking clue what was wrong but figured they could scam you out of a few bills.

 

yea well when i go to get my car i make them give me the print out from the scanner to make sure thats what it is.My car has throw the ks code for a while but always with other codes and i would always fix the other things and the ks would stay away for a while.I guess no more beating around the bush got to change the ks finally.
