I picked up this I30 but the odometer and speedometer don't work.
Trans shifts fine as near as I can tell. No codes came up on my scanner.
well, I did come up with a bad o2 sensor code

 

If you don't have a VSS code, chances are, you may have to replace your speedometer. It's somewhat common especially among 4th Gen. Maximas. Sometimes re-tighten all screws that hold speedometer to the cluster will fix this issue, even if the screws don't look loosen, you can try it before replacing the speedometer. Replacing a VSS to see what happens is another option, because obviously it's cheaper than replacing a speedometer. In my experience this issue with AT transmission sometimes coninsides with flashing O/D lights indicating a TCM error.

 

I guess I'll tear into the cluster tomorrow then.
no O/D light on, just flashing airbag.
maybe I'll scan that code tomorrow

 

Need new speedometer. Tighten the screws on the back of the cluster can put a temporary fix on problem.
