I just ordered these springs for my I30t...

I wanted as much of a drop I can get from just changing springs (I know I'll eventually have to change the struts too)...so I ordered these...

Do those look okay?

Thanks

i haven't seen much reviews on this yet. but these are a bigger drop in the rear as S-techs and S-techs get a very mid-range review. Your struts will be going rather soon. So please consider getting them before you install springs therefore you dont have to remove them twice.

Wow you're right...what kind of struts do you guys recommend with this much of a drop? I know you get what you pay for, but considering this car has 130K miles on it I'd rather not get the best...I figured I've spent quiet a bit of money on this car, and I just spend another $160 on a starter so I said I'll keep the car at least another 2 years or so...and I've always wanted a drop, so why not.

I remember when the first member bought the springs for a nice introductory price he installed them, and wasnt exacltly happy and sold them about a week after installing.

I have a feeling you'll really dislike driving your car if you pair those up with stock struts. Very bouncy. . . not fun.

GR-2's...I found this how-to on changing struts, I guees I can follow it to change the springs in the front, but it says nothing about the rear struts/springs...http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/shocks.html

I've heard that your shocks will go pretty soon after you drop your car without aftermarket springs. Be careful. I've also heard it feels like your riding on bouncy *****...but that sounds exciting.

...famous last words

to be honest, if you only plan to have the car a few more years, i wouldn't invest in suspension. but it sounds like you really want to, so with those springs, Illuminas would be best, but if you wish to spend a little less, KYB AGX or GR-2 (in that order) would get you by.

the gr-2's will hold up but the quality of the ride is a whole other question. THe GR-2 should last for a good while. If you can afford it or see a good deal for adjustable struts I'd go for those.

I have had the KYB GR-2's with lower springs for 3 years now with no problems, great handleing with a reasonable ride.

You'll be on the bump stops all day long with those. We dont have enought travel to go that low. The only way to get a decent ride is with shortened Koni's up front and some kind of long travel rear upper mount. Its still a crap shoot, since there is very little feed back on them.

Ok how about when I get them installed I'll tell everyone how the ride is? I'm sure everyone's prediction will be correct...bumpy/harsh ride...again I'm doing this for the looks, I figured w all this money spent on the car and the fact that it's a 5 speed I30t fully loaded, why not...

I just got the springs installed...I like the ride a lot and on top of that the car looks real nice, even without aftermarket wheels/tires...now my only question is, will the ride sit a little lower after a week or two or the springs don't "settle" after a while?
