did nissan ever make these in chrome or are they after market?

no, nissan never made them chrome. Someone had the stock rims plated. Looks cheesy IMO, but whatever floats your maxima

I think they may have been a dealer option. VIPMAXIMA had chrome 16's back in the day, not sure if they were from Nissan or not.

Those centercaps lead me to believe that they were chromed by someone.
