If you have a 4th gen you'll need the first one on that page:

The second one down is NOT the correct injector, that is a top feed. You need a bosch redtop side feed which is the first style listed. The one in the second picture is NOT going to work.

Prepare to be really pissed off, because that website obviously hasn't got a clue, they are dead wrong. I'm not really inclined to try to convince you further. You'll find out soon enough.

if you would have looked at the picture, you would have seen that it says 'not application specific'.

called the president and he assured me what i ordered would work.

its the correct side feed type injector, professor. i pretty much explained through rather simple logic, that the pictured injector is not what i bought. ah you are from brooklyn tho.

SO...got the injector today.

Getting that old one out was one of the most ****ing frustrating thigns ive ever done.

so finally, i get it out. i install the new one. im excited as hell.

then i start the car. still mother****ing misfiring. still getting the 0605 code.

cleard the codes, did it again. still misfiring. im seriously like ****ing depressed at this point.

its not the plugs, its not the injector, so what coul dbe causing cylinder 4 to misfire?

ps. checked the resistance on the old one before i took it out. dead.
checked the resistance on the new one. alive.

ugh

the other thing.. it has the pintle cap on it right...like i asked u above
third make sure u used new orings top and bottom and the injector is seated correctly...
i had a similar problem it was caused by the orings and pintle cap

I had my car misfiring like a Bish. everyone keep telling me to change the coils but i didn't think that was the problem. I never got a single CEL. Anyway i changed the coils and everything is working beautifully. Feels like the car is brand new again. I'd suggest maybe trying to find a pair of used ones from a 97-98 made by Hanshin.

I did look at the picture and I did notice that initially and wondered about it, then I wondered why they would bother to have the correct pictures AVAILABLE on the page, and yet not put them in the correct spot, nor with the correct descriptions? They have the correct injector for a 95-99 maxima pictured at the top of the page (red top side feed) at one price, and then the correct injector for a 2000-2006 pictured (black top, top feed) listed. The website is confusing and inaccurate to say the least, they do NOT have the correct pictures listed with the correct years, though apparently not intentionally misleading and I assume you got the correct injector since you said you got it today and installed it. The simple fact is that the injector pictured will NOT fit both a 95-99 and a 2000-2006 maxima, because they use TOTALLY different injectors - yet the website design would tend to make people believe that - as you believed, and as I thought they meant. That's my $.02.

i could tell it wasnt last night cause it was smooth...and when i punched the gas it flew.

now its vibrating and when i hit the gas it like pauses and the revs climb slowly. i cant even screach my tires from a stop....and i could do that last night.

what gives?

Did you use new O-Rings on the injector ?? Did you make sure and lube them up real good before pushing the injector into the fuel rail

An O-ring may have ripped while you pushed it in and is leaking causing your problem.

This is so so so weird. So i went out driving at about 5, still misfiring.

About three hours later, i took it for another drive. NO MISFIRE. its such an obvious difference in smoothness and power.

what could possibly be making this an intermittent problem?? weather conditions?

i am really at a loss here. im not getting my hopes up, because im not sure what car im getting the next time i start her up.

Going through this same crap

Replaced all 3 rear injectors with new ones (1 injector was dead, but didnt want to deal with removing the IM again for the other 2 when those would die later on - didnt want to deal with it in winter where I would have to pay a shop to do it)

The new injectors came with new pintle caps & o-rings. Car started misfiring badly afterwards so I changed out the coil packs (bought a used set of working ones from someone local since 2 of mine went bad) and put in new NGK plugs

Put the car under load (had someone hold the brake and put it in drive) and I started disconnecting the coil pack connector on each cylinder one by one. Turned out that only cyl #3 didnt have any idle change when disconnected so thats the one causing the prob

Also have blue smoke coming out (started like 2 days ago - did the injector thing about 2 weeks ago I think) so now I'm burning oil Will pull the IM again to see whats wrong with the injector and I'll probably have to do a compression test for the oil burning thing

Every time I fix something, something else more annoying or more expensive pops up

How old are your plugs? Could be another injector going out or your coil packs

One of my front injectors went bad about half a year ago and I changed it out with a used one (front ones are easy to replace so I just use used ones). Then a rear one went out and another front one started to go bad a few weeks back

You can use Chevron with Techron fuel injector cleaner to see how it runs with it or just unplug each coil pack one by one while the car is running to see which one makes the LEAST difference in idle

the plugs are about a week old. they were the first thing i replaced.

i tested the old injector using an ohmeter, and it was dead, so i assumed it was the problem. installed a new one.

ill do the coil pack thing after work.
