Replace Springs with Struts or no?

Just ordered a pair of KYB struts for $190 a pair shipped from a seller on Ebay (brand new). I found a pretty good deal on Eibach pro springs as well. Wondering if I need to change my springs while I am in there. I don't need the thing to handle like a beemer but need to know if the accordian motion I am getting on the freeway when goving over depressions is caused by worn springs or worn struts??? Thank you.

Your problem is worn struts, not likely the springs. Once you put the KYBs on, the "accordian motion" should subside quite a bit.

If you want a more aggressive stance (about 1.2" lower) and better handling, I would get the Eibachs, too.

I would recommend the Eibachs if you can afford them. They are a little bit stiffer, but still comfortable and it improves cornering immensely.

Wow I will have to look into some good struts because mine have not been changed to my knowledge in 190,000 miles. I prolly have to change mine cause i get a "accordian motion" when I turn. But I wonder should I change all 4 or just 2 and then where could a get a good priced one. Im no baller so I don't do the 400.00 dollar shocks type mod. I just want a good pair so my ride can be more comfortable.

Thanks for the help Cliff, that makes sense. Think I will pass on the springs, it is my wifes car and it has 205,000 miles on it (89 Maxima). Anything else I should consider replacing while I am in there? Thanks.
