tranny torque specs?

tranny torque specs?

Hey guys....im in the middle of replaceing my clutch.....i was just wondering first, what the torque is supposed to be on the actual clutch, and also the torque on the transmission bolts? ive looked around and havent found anything.

Torque on the pressure plate for the 9 bolts is 1st: 7-14 ft lbs and 2nd: around 20. I torqued mine to around 23ish. Don't forget torque sequence. You should get yourself a FSM from www.phatg20.net and follow the instructions in there as it is VERY important to torque them right.

As far as the outer tranny bolts, look in the FSM.

thank you very much man....very helpful info! ahh if i can just finish this thing today i'll be happy....my poor Max has been immobile for just over a month now ;-(

Mine as well, vq35 swap is almost done.

What clutch are you using?

i went ahead and got a 5 gen for it...hopefully it does in fact perform better than stock?

It most definitely will. That's what I'm going to be initially using for the 3.5.

i posted a word document w/step-by-step instructions to reassembling your project. Included are diagrams and torque specs. search the general forum for post made by me, w/topic "torque spec" or something like that. Print it out (2 pages) and take w/u.
